It's a chilly but sunny spring morning here at my house...I'm enjoying a cup of warm chai latte and thought I'd share a few healthy drink suggestions in place of the sugary drinks alot of Americans are used to drinking.
Chai Latte
Into a 12 oz mug, pour 4 oz. hot water. Steep 1 bag Chai Tea of choice for 10 minutes. Add 1 t. sweetner of choice (I use Agave or maple syrup) and fill the mug the rest of the way with milk of your choice (almond or rice are nice). Enjoy...
Icy Strawberry Lemonade
Into a blender or Vitamix, pour 1 1/2 c lemon juice and 1 cup sugar. Blend well. Add 1 c. whole frozen strawberries. Fill the canister with ice. Let sit for 1/2 hr then blend until the consistency of Italian ice, very fine but frozen. This is an awesome treat on a hot summer afternoon while sitting on the front porch enjoying the flowers...
A variation of this would be to eliminate the strawberries or to have strawberries and lime juice instead of the lemon.
