Beeswax candles are made from all natural products, and there are no artificial additives. Sometimes companies use additives and hardeners to make the wax set up faster. Only cotton wicks are used in Beeswax candles. Most paraffin wax candle wicks are made of synthetic material and may contain metal which makes them toxic and emit smoke. Some companies add scents to the candles to make them more appealing but this can cause a soot residue.
All natural Beeswax candles are safe enough that you could consume them. Beeswax candles are hypoallergenic, long burning (50%)longer than paraffin wax, smoke free (90% cleaner), they do not drip, are naturally honey scented, more durable, and burn brighter then paraffin wax candles. Yes, Beeswax candles may cost more than your average paraffin wax candles but, you get more for your money in the long run. People will combine natural beeswax with other candles to achieve longer burn time. Beeswax can also be bleached which will make it white or ivory in color. This does not take away from the candle properties all this will do is remove the natural color of the honey. Over time your candle may have a whitish residue this is caused by the minerals rising to the candles surface this is called "Bloom."
It has been proven that natural beeswax has negative Ion properties. This in turn increases your alertness, makes you less drowsy and gives you more mental energy. Which one of us out there could not benefit from that?
