Organic Gardening

There are many advantages of organic gardening.  With the worlds move toward being “green” it pays off to garden with the same thing in mind.  Instead of using harmful pesticides and fertilizers, the organic gardener is looking for ways to put back into the soil things that will enrich it and not harm it.  Using grass clippings and other composite materials will keep your soil healthy and full of the natural nutrients it needs to grow the best produce.

With organically grown food, you get the rich natural taste of your food without the worry of harmful ingredients.  There are many ways to build up composite material for your garden such as containers designed to keep your grass clippings and leaves, your food waste and even pet potty collectors.  There are a variety of different compost bins, tumblers and wood chippers to generate the compost you need each year.

One thing every garden, organic or not, needs is pest control.  It doesn’t do any good to take such care to grow your food organically if you let the pests eat it up!  Many people don’t realize that there are beneficial insects to keep in your garden but also require a certain amount of harmful ones for them to feed off of.  This takes study and research to know how to properly maintain the balance of insect control for organic gardens.

Whether you have a large suburban garden or a small inner city garden, you will eat healthier and feel better about the environment around you with your organic garden.
