Container Planting.

If you have a patio or deck in your home, that is an ideal place to have containers or planter boxes that you can grow vegetables or flowers.  The first thing you need to do is determine how much sun gets to the patio.  Read the labels for the plants or vegetables to see what grows best in your environment.  After you have decided what you are going to plant, you should then look for good quality planter boxes as well.  It is better to spend a little more money on better quality planter boxes, as they can last a long time.

The last thing you need to buy is some quality planting or potting soil to put in your planter boxes. Now you are ready to plant your flowers or vegetables in your planters.  After you have planted all of your plants, you need to give them plenty of water so that they will grow.  You should water them every day for the first two weeks. After that, you can water them every other day.

Make sure you check your vegetables to ensure that no animals are eating them.  If you see that happening you may have to fence in that area to try to keep the animals away from your vegetables.  Some of the more popular vegetables that people grow are tomatoes, basil and peppers.  This can be a lot of fun for people and it is also good therapy as well.
